The Residenz Heinz Winkler was created from a late medieval building, which had been called the Hotel Post for centuries. Heinz Winkler purchased the premises in 1989 and rebuilt them into his modern, though tradition-conscious Residenz. „I think we have achieved a good compromise between luxury and local charm.“ (Heinz Winkler)

Displaying great personal commitment and imprinting his personal style, the owner himself oversaw the renovation and build-out of the former Hotel Post. All our rooms and suites are different and have their own particular charm. Unforgettable mountain views, fine art objects and antiques, access to our beautiful garden – every room and suite has a special character.
In the morning we welcome you in our Garden Salon or on sunny days on the mountain view terrace of the Residenz to enjoy a rich gourmet breakfast. Whether you choose a Double Room, a Maisonette Suite or our luxury Residenz Suite - we do everything to ensure you feel at home.
The room rate for single use is € 25,- less than the rate for double use.
The rate for a baby cod is € 20,- and the parking fee for your car in our garage is € 9,- per day.
Also your dog is welcome in the Residenz from € 20,- per day.

The Venetian Gourmet Restaurant
Our famous Venetian Gourmet Restaurant is the heart and the soul of the Residenz Heinz Winkler. The elegant interior and the Italian ambience is the perfect setting of unforgettable hours of enjoyment and pleasure. In his starred Cuisine Vitale Heinz Winkler creates classic menus and new surprising creations to inspire his guests.

The wine cellar has space for about 25,000 bottles, among which there are noble and rare Château wines from Latour to Lafitte. The wine list offers as many as 950 positions.

Heinz Winkler
Heinz Winklers culinary handwriting is unmistakable and he did not let himself dissuade from this taken path. His culinary art is characterized by the concentration on the essential and on one main product, enriched by his famous sauces. He developed this unique cooking style very early and will never reduce his efforts to refine his style in nuances.
Born in South Tyrol Heinz Winkler started his unique career in 1963 at the age of only 14 years in the Hotel Laurim in Bozen. Soon he extended his culinary knowledge in famous restaurants in Germany, France, Italy and in Switzerland.
In 1973 he was promoted to chef de cuisine of the Schlosshotel Pontresina and the Kulm Hotel in St. Moritz. In 1978 he was seeking for new challenges and discovered the Nouvelle Cuisine with Paul Bocuse and Eckart Witzigmann. Then he was the head of the legendary Tantris in Munich and was reaching for the stars. In 1981 he was honoured with three Michelin stars.
In 1991 he fulfilled himself a lifelong desire with the Residenz Heinz Winkler in Aschau. With his famous Cuisine Vitale the Residenz is an attraction for guests from all over the world.
